LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The course of international law aims to deal with the main components of the international legal system and its main functions, the rules governing the formation of international law, the content of international norms, the relationship between international and domestic law (with a special focus on the Italian legal order) as well as international legal adjudication.

PROGRAMME OF THE COURTS Degree LMG / 01 (9 CFU): 1) The subjects of international law. 2) Sources of international law and their formation: written and unwritten rules. 3) The content of international law. 4) The application of international standards in national legal orders. 5) Internationally wrongful acts and their consequences. 6) Arbitration.
ASSESSMENT METHODS Access to the exam is subject to recognition of attendance, which will be certified at the time of booking the exam. The certification will attest to the progress of educational activities and the amount of work carried out during various exercises. The exam will be oral and will be passed with marks in the range between 18/30 and 30/30.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED • The student will acquire full knowledge of the functions, institutions and rules of public international law. • Knowledge of the institutions of public international law will allow the student to identify comparative research topics in a synchronic and diachronic manner. • The student will develop critical analysis skills with respect to the rules of public international law and to the interpretative solutions developed by Italian and international jurisprudence with respect to contemporary problems of international law.
SKILLS REQUIRED • The student will have developed a solid knowledge of public international law that will allow him to develop independent opinions with respect to issues of relevance in contemporary international law. • The knowledge acquired will allow the student, once graduated, to carry out all the professions in which a solid knowledge of public international law is required, within the academic world, in civil society or in the context of the exercise of the legal profession .
