Credits 8 SSD M-PSI/01 Academic Year 2023/2024 Teaching period II SEMESTER ON-LINE teaching methodology Course objective is: - possess a mastery of the basic disciplines of psychology understood as the science of behavior aimed at the acquisition of solid theoretical-methodological knowledge of the various articulations of general psychology; - possess the methodological and technical tools related to research in the field of general psychology applied to individuals; - possess the skills to construct questionnaires and instruments for detecting behavior and conducting interviews and assessments of different types on the individual; - be able to apply statistical analysis strategies as well as to write preliminary reports on the results obtained.

Course Program The course aims to provide a theoretical overview of the current state of knowledge of the processes studied by general psychology, as well as methodological aspects related to the study of general psychology will be analyzed. Some topics specific to general psychology, such as perception and attention, conditioning, learning, memory, language and communication, thought and intelligence, motivation and emotion, and metacognition, will then be explored. 1. Knowledge and understanding skills in terms of expected outcomes (Dublin descriptor #1). The student will be expected to. - possess basic knowledge of mental functioning and behavior in adults; - acquire the theoretical and methodological foundations of general psychology important for the continuation of professional training in Master's degrees; - have knowledge of major cognitive processes and assessment approaches in the adult. Competencies in order to apply knowledge and understanding in terms of expected outcomes (Dublin descriptor No. 2) The student should be able to - apply basic psychological knowledge to mental and behavioral assessment in the adult; - find, understand, analyze and use scientific literature in the field of psychology; - design experimental designs, collect experimental data, and apply data analysis techniques in the field of psychology.
