1) The eighteenth century: Rousseau. Educational institutions in the Romantic age: Pestalozzi 2) Educating childhood in the eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries: Froebel; Aporti. With references to the 0-6 age group 3) Second nineteenth century: pedagogical positivism; education and pedagogy in the Italian Risorgimento 4) Fight against illiteracy; birth and development of the Italian school system; educational literatures 5) Early 20th century: pedagogical and school activism; Montessori; Agazzi; Dewey. With references to the 0-6 age group (module with laboratory) 6) Schooling in Italy from the Giolittian age to the 'School Charter'; 7) Fascism, school and education. 8) Second twentieth century: neo-behaviorism; cognitivism; the Summerhill school 9) The Italian school from the Constituent Assembly to the 1990s (with special attention to the birth and development of the state preschool).
