LEARNING OBJECTIVES The course aims to achieve the following objectives: 1. knowledge of the economic evolution of European nations from the mid-eighteenth century to the present day 2. knowledge of economic policy choices implemented over time both in the expansionary and crisis phases 3. knowledge of the problems related to the development of local, national and international economic systems.
COURSE CONTENTS The program of the course concerns the economic transformations that have occurred from the eighteenth century to the present day, grouped into three periods that coincide with the corresponding phases of the industrial revolution. The topics covered are, considering for each module both the videolessons and the web lessons: Module 1 - Economic history and population Module 2 - The first industrial revolution and its premises Module 3 - The problems and countries of the first industrial revolution Module 4 - The second industrial revolution Module 5 - The countries of the second industrial revolution Module 6 – War and the Great Depression Module 7 - The third industrial revolution Module 8 - Globalization and development
